Restore The Land
My Philosophy
The principal that informs all of my work with the land is that we must give back as much of it as we can to our more-than-human kin.
What we choose to do, even with a small patch of land, makes an enormous difference to a single bee looking for a safe place to live and good food to eat.
I am a certified permaculture designer, and I apply permaculture principles to all of my designs. I believe in working with nature instead of against it.
My services are consultation only and are for people who are seeking guidance and direction as they transform the land under their care.
When I work with clients, my goal is to help them read the landscape, understand what it is saying, and gently steward it back to its vibrant, diverse natural state. I want my clients to come away feeling like confident caretakers of the patch of earth they call home.
How does a design consultation work?
During our initial call, we’ll discuss the nature of your site, look over any pictures or videos you have of the land, and talk about different approaches you can take to reach your goals. This may mean working with what you have and making small adjustments where needed, or it might mean starting fresh by replacing an empty lawn with a thriving patch of native plants.
If you would like to continue working together after our first call, I will put together a list of native plants specifically suited to your site, as well as full color planting maps for you to follow.
If you are ready to give your land back to the wild and restore your ecosystem, I’d love to help you.
